Watcha People,
So, we wanted to make a little video which really ignites the next chapter in the project - fundraising to buy our first piece of land. This will act as the physical hub of the Free Folk Project.
We’ve already made a beautiful video, showcasing the philosophy of our project.
And based on that, we’ve been inundated with responses from people asking how they can contribute..
The Free Folk Project lives and breathes to welcome contribution in all forms and will act as a media platform to celebrate everyone's talents. But we also invite financial contribution, as money, in the right hands, is still an incredibly valuable tool to help us materialise this new world.
Our focus, up until now, has been building our incredible website and it’s social media function (coming soon!), connecting and assembling a powerful audience of like-hearted folks and also laying the foundations for our peer-to-peer mental health network (stay tuned for that too!).
Now we need to focus some time on the physical part of the project.
The Land
First up, we’re raising €150,000 to realise this important phase.
The acquisition of our first piece of land. Which is not only breathtakingly stunning but also has all the existing infrastructure required to be the perfect launch-pad for the project. In the coming weeks we’ll have our ROADMAP on our website which will present a well-rounded plan of where we’re heading.
But for now – we have discovered an absolutely magical piece of land, nestled in a valley in Andalusia, over-looking a waterfall (albeit only running in the winter months, for now!)
The land already has several yurts and other sleeping accommodation, a large solar energy set-up and more mountain water than we could possibly use - making us completely off-grid.
We are in the process of designing and building a production house, so we can film, document and continually produce empowering and entertaining content which will showcase the project from grass roots until world domination!.. (Cue evil laugh)
This HUB will act as a foundation for other families to come and visit, explore and uncover the piece of land that best suits them, to start building their dream as our neighbours.
We’re also currently designing and building The Wee Folk Project. A place where our children and yours, can learn, thrive and grow in a natural environment which will support them in becoming self-empowered and self-sufficient young adults.
As soon as we become the custodians of this piece of heaven on earth, we will have further opportunities to create even more media-production, physical workshops and much, much more.
How You Can Help
It is abundantly clear, our project has tremendous value to any audience and we’re certain we could charge a subscription. Yet in our hearts, that doesn’t feel conducive to transcending redundant, traditional exchange models which invariably exclude many, based on their financial circumstances.
For giving value to something is different for each and all of us – it is subjective and so we believe the choice should be left to the individual. People can give what they can afford, based on their own situation and own integrity.
The most important thing to remember is, this project is as much yours as it is ours. We, like you, have a calling to rip up the archaic script of an unfair world and create societies where we cooperate instead of compete, where we choose interdependence over self-gains.
