The Freefolk story is one of faith, family and friends. My earliest memories as a child are growing up in my grandparents' home, listening to my granddad’s prayer before suppertime. I never asked, but I think The Lord’s Prayer was his favorite because that’s what he always prayed before meals. Literally. Every. Single. Time :o) Love you granddaddy!

And back then Sunday was an all-day church affair, with no way of escaping it. Trust me. Tried to once with my uncle Mike, but grandma tracked us down at the penny store buying candy. And let's just say that was one lesson we only needed to learn once.

You don't realize the magnitude of certain things as a kid, but as I've grown older I've come to appreciate the blessing of being born into a family rooted in faith, where love and laughter was always overflowing. After moving away, I always looked forward to summer breaks when I could go back home and spend time with the folks. My aunts and uncles spoiled me pretty good and I loved every minute of it. I don't think she knows it, but my mom has taught me some of the most valuable lessons I've learned in life. She’s also the reason I’ve been able to experience so many new places, and a variety of communities and cultures from which I’ve gained some pretty amazing friends.

I've heard it said that joy isn't dependent on outcome. There is a peace in understanding that. I don't know what will ultimately come of this little endeavor and that's okay because I do know where my joy truly comes from, regardless of situation or circumstance.

Freefolk is the story of my life - a life that’s been filled with an abundance of faith, family and friends. Here every thread has a purpose, and every purchase makes a difference. By putting our faith into action, my hope is that God will use Freefolk to bless others, particularly those who are suffering, as much as I’ve been blessed in my life.
